Old Mans Child - Slaves Of World
Dimmu Borgir guitarist Galder has had a one man side project for quite a while called Old Man’s Child. Many don’t even attempt a listen due to what is perceived as an identical sound to his main black metal group’s sound. This is an unfair assessment really, yes the band's sounds are similar but really Old Man’s Child are able to expand upon musical elements that Dimmu Borgir only touch on during some albums. Also if Dimmu’s last few albums have been a bit too easy listening for you, Slaves of the World will be right up your alley. The album is a great mixture of melodic black metal, a little bit of industrial, and even some solid death thrown in for good measure
Dying Fetus - Descend Into Depravity
In case you were wondering where I've been, I'm still alive, I'm just busy with college. I'll still be lurking around and will occasionally post something good whenever I have time.
So, let's get back to business. The new Dying Fetus is here. Upon pressing play, I was amazed by the catchyness of the riffs I was barraged with. Descend Into Depravity is an improvement from the mediocre War Of Attrition, it's the same good Destroy The Opposityion style Dying Fetus with a bit more technical approach. I really can't say much more about it, if you're reading this you should already be familiar with the aforementioned album(s), so I assume you understand how good this is. I, for one, enjoy Descend Into Depravity. I think you will too.

The Black Dahlia Murder - Defloration ( 2009 )
I like The Black Dahlia Murder. Every album 'matures' from the last - constantly evolving. Production, musically, lyrically each album is (what I feel) significantly more evolved than the last. Each album has it's own personality - which highlight how the band has grown. The "lovable immaturity" is what draws me to this band.
